The Castlederg Vintage Rally DVD
2002
On 25th May 2002
The Castlederg Vintage Club held its annual Vintage Rally and
although weather conditions were not ideal, this did not dampen the
enthusiasm of the many exhibitors who brought along an abundance of
beautifully restored models, many dating back to the 1930s.
Interviews
were conducted by Willie Graham, a knowledgeable vintage enthusiast
himself and Willie discovered many interesting facts from the proud
owners of these priceless relics of bygone years. As well as the
cars and tractors there is a large number of stationery engines all
done up to perfection and also two steam engines on display. The
ancient practice of churning butter, making corn dollies and
spinning wool into yarn is also demonstrated. No vintage day could
be complete without a thresher and the early form of rope making is
carried out with the threshed straw.
Songs and
music includes, Six days on the road, King of the road, The Kesh
jig, The old Threshing mill, Convoy and The sunny side of life.
